Article Draft

This is the text from my article i wrote this before producing the article in Indesign.
Today we take a look at a new film straight out of three of the newest directors on the scene. Rachael Young, Matthew Atkinson and Tom dale release their first short film this month, Memoirs of a Killer. The film is a psychological Horror with Dark humour mixed into the bag; it looks at the life of a mentally disturbed writer as his real life and fiction begin to merge.
This great film recently won the BAFTA for best short film, and we can see why!  This great new take on Psychological Horror will make you think twice who you laugh at; the horror is well balanced by the dark humour making a really enjoyable film. The directors have dual roles also starring in their first film. Can they live up to the high expectations and deliver, we think so the film offers a tongue in cheek and dark comedy look at a physiological horror. The mix of crudity and genuine suspense makes for a great film.

This was my first draft for my article. i decided to change it as the layout was poor and there was no sense of uniformity. In the second draft I applied the rule of thirds to apply a more uniform pattern.

Photos from Article and Poster

I used these 2 pictures for my poster the second was used to super-impose over the other for the sinister elements.

I used this picture for the article.

Slogans and Headlines

For our Tagline we decided to use
'Running the fine line between Fiction and Reality'

We used this as it hints at the psychological nature, also it suggests the false 'reality'. we also used this as a line in the film, as this helped to intergarate the three products.

Short film Poster

I looked at some short film posters when producing my poster. i noticed how short films used close up head shots of the protagonist.

I used this technique on my poster.

Ancillary Task planning

For my Ancillary task I plan to make a double page spread and a poster.

My double page spread will be a review format article in a film magazine, I have produced a basic flat plan for the article
For my poster i plan to have a picture of the main characters face with a Knife super imposed reflecting a pen this suggests his sinister nature.
